Frequently Asked Questions
What is askBhargava?
askBhargava is a professional Vedic astrology platform that computes natal charts from NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris with sub-arcsecond precision. It covers dashas, yogas, doshas, divisional charts, Jaimini, KP, Lal Kitab and more, plus AI-powered interpretations — each shown beside the classical verse it rests on.
How accurate are the calculations?
Our calculations use DE440, the planetary ephemeris NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory computes for spacecraft navigation. Planetary positions are accurate to fractions of an arcsecond. We support Lahiri, Krishnamurti, and Raman ayanamsha systems.
What ayanamsha does askBhargava use?
Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) is the default, which is the official standard of the Indian government. Krishnamurti and Raman ayanamsha are also available.
Is my birth data stored?
On the web app, birth data is processed in real time and not stored on our servers. Chart results exist only for the duration of your browser session. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How does the AI chat work?
Our AI assistant uses an advanced third-party AI model to interpret your chart data. It receives curated details from your chart — selected by the systems you tick and the question you ask — and writes a reading from them. (The provider that processes it is named in our Privacy Policy.) The AI is a tool for exploration, not a replacement for a qualified astrologer.
What calculation modules are available?
Six groups: Chart basics (Panchang, Planets, Houses, Aspects, Nakshatra, Special Lagnas, Upagrahas, Chalit), Time Cycles (Dashas, Dasha Sandhi, Progressions, Varshaphal), Yogas & Strength (Shadbala, Bhava Bala, Divisional Charts), Life Analysis (Career, Wealth, Health, Spiritual, Personality, Longevity), Jyotish Systems (Jaimini, KP, Lal Kitab, Pancha Pakshi, Vastu, Nadi), and Remedies & Chakras (Sudarshana, Kota, Shoola, Sarvatobhadra, Sahams).
